Mark your calendars: You won’t want to miss this!

The Kiwanis Club of South Central Indiana will host its 4th Annual Kiwanis Hot Air Balloon Fest at the Monroe County Fairgrounds in Bloomington, Indiana on Sept. 9-11, 2016. The 10-year-old Kiwanis club of community members will use funds generated from the Balloon Fest to support Riley Children’s Hospital, Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington, SCI Kiwanis Club projects, as well as other community service organizations.

We anxiously look forward to this year’s balloon launches during Saturday and Sunday mornings, as well as early evenings inflations on Sept. 9, 10 and 11 (weather permitting). We will host colorful, enormous hot air balloons at this event, and there is nothing more beautiful than to see these multicolored balloons ascend into the sky at dusk.

New this year: come tour the Mega Body Adventure.

Returning features of the festival include the 5K Run/Walk, Car Show, KCBS Competition, a Corn Hole Tournament, Kiwanis Idol singing competition, our annual Health & Safety Family FUN! Fair on Saturday, plus delicious food, a variety of vendors, and MORE!

Another popular event of the Balloon Fest is the Night Glow. Following Friday and Saturday evening launches, the balloons return to the festival to conduct a Night Glow. At this event, the balloons are tethered to the ground, and they use their propane heaters to light up the multicolored balloons. It is one of the most fascinating sites imaginable. Tethered balloon rides will be available on Friday and Saturday evenings for a nominal cost and weather conditions permitting.

Food vendors will be present to entice the taste buds, commercial vendors for your shopping pleasure, and entertainers for your enjoyment. We hope to see you at the Balloon Fest!
